Look @ Me Now
How challenging was this project for you? Be specific.
The most challenging part of the project was thinking of the prompts that were given to me and being honest about myself. It made me uncomfortable sharing things about myself because I'm so used to writing about something else for school. It's also scary putting yourself out there because some people might not like what you write but despite that I was able to complete the project and I now I feel more comfortable with sharing things about myself.
What was the easiest part of this project?
The easiest part of this project was writing because it is one of my favorite subjects. I improved on my grammar and my ability to think of different ways to describe topics in my writing. I also got critique from my classmates that my writing flowed nicely.
How comfortable did you feel during your presentation?
I was very comfortable during my presentation. I have done presentations for a while now, so I am much better at speaking loudly, clearly, and without much stuttering. When I finished my presentation I got critique from my classmates saying that I seemed comfortable presenting and that I spoke very well.
Did you receive critique and feedback from anyone (teacher, parent, classmate, etc)? If so, who? Was the feedback helpful?
I did get critique from a classmate. When my class finished our first drafts, we exchanged and critiqued our writing. I got feedback to write more detail in certain sections and to explain more about my feelings on different topics. I was also able to read their writing and it gave me a good example of what to do for my piece. The critique gave me ideas on what I should add in my writing and it made it even better.
Did you provide kind, specific, and helpful feedback in the peer review session? Who did you assess? Explain.
I did provide kind, specific, and helpful feedback to the person I was critiquing. I made sure to include at least a few sentences for every section on the critique sheet and thought deeply about each prompt. I wrote things that went well and ways they can improve on so they know what to do to make their writing even better.
Do you think you were on task for the vast majority of the time given in class to work on writing and construction? Explain.
What grade do you think you deserve? Why?
I believe I was on task for the vast majority of time. I rarely speak to people during class and completing work as efficiently as possible is something I always strive for. I also spent a lot of my free time working on my writing and put a great deal of effort into my work and while thinking deeply about what to write. I don't usually put that much effort into my writing, but in this writing piece I pushed myself to write about myself despite it being uncomfortable. My poster is organized and the theme for each paragraph is portrayed clearly. I think I deserve an A for this class because I pushed myself out of my comfort zone to write about myself, had a organized poster that was easy to understand, and when I presented I spoke loudly and clearly without looking uncomfortable.
If you could change something about this project, what would it be?
If I could change something about this project I think I would change some of the prompts because some of them seem to overlap with one another and made my writing feel redundant.
