Reflection Questions
I visited local colleges and did not go on the overnight field trip.
Describe what your experience was like this week.
It was very peaceful. I got to be in a small group and felt more comfortable. I didn’t feel stress so it was easier for me to understand the tour guides.
What differences did you notice between the different schools you visited?
UCSD was really big with lots of people in classes. Chapman had a lot of people but had smaller sized classes. SOKA looked like a giant mansion with barely any people in it.
How has this experience changed/influenced your ideas around college? For example:
Being away from home/parents?
I’m more nervous about being away from parents because I never lived by myself before and don't know how much support i will need from them.
Driving long distances to get home?
I'm not very comfortable with long distance drives. I would get stuck in traffic and it would be inconvenient.
Being immersed in a different city/culture
I think it would be interesting to be immersed in a different city or culture because I think it would widen my perspective.
Being responsible for taking care of yourself
I'm not looking forward to taking care of myself but I think I can do it.
What are you looking forward to the most in college?
I am looking forward to meeting new people and graduating.
What are you most concerned about for college?
I am concerned about dorm roommates and studying for tests.
Are you interested in Study Abroad?
Yes.
Did you hear about any clubs or organizations you would be interested in joining?
No.
What type of college (or trade school) are you interested in attending?
A big college in state.
Do you think you will stay in-state, or go to another state/country?
I think I will stay in state.
